High performance Polyamide 11 (Nylon 11) material for electrical cable jacketing solutions
Cable manufacturers are currently facing new safety (fire resistance), durability (stability), and long-term durability (mechanical strength) requirements. Our products provide suitable solutions for these issues and are used to produce low, medium, high, and ultra-high voltage cables. With a diverse range and wide applicability, our products can be applied to almost all types of electrical cables while meeting international technical standards (AS/CA, ANSI/TIA, ISO & IEEE).
Rilsan® Polyamide 11
Rilsan® Polyamide 11 is one of the few materials that can withstand termite attacks. These materials are highly valued by underground cable manufacturers.
Made from castor oil, Rilsan® PA11 is a high-performance polymer derived 100% from renewable resources. Rilsan® PA11 has outstanding features that are highly regarded in the Electrical Cable Industry:
- Short circuit resistance
- Mold and fungus resistance
- Abrasion resistance
- Termite and rodent resistance
- Chemical resistance
- Easy to process
- Very smooth finish surface
Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) Kynar® and Kynar Flex®
Polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) Kynar® and Kynar Flex® are particularly suitable for high-demand applications such as safety cables due to their excellent chemical stability and mechanical strength.
- Generates very little smoke and self-extinguishes when exposed to fire conditions
- Excellent resistance to most chemicals
- Superior cut resistance
- Low cold flow capability
- High abrasion resistance
- Termite and rodent resistant
- Much higher melting point than many other polymers used in cable applications
- RTI (Relative Temperature Index) rating of 150°C
- Wide bending modulus range
